MY STORY

Hi I am Jordan aka The Diabetic Murse. Learning about and managing diabetes is a true passion of mine. Anytime I can help someone with their diabetes is a good day! I’d like to give you a little back story into my life.

At the age of 5, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, a chronic life-long condition that is managed with insulin injections. Growing up with diabetes presented unique challenges at times, but overall I had a relatively normal childhood. I went to school, played sports, spent time with friends, and learned lots about my body and keeping it as healthy as possible. I did not let having diabetes slow me down!

Because of my diabetes, I grew up being very curious about it and over the years began asking questions. Why did this happen to me? Why do some people manage it well and others don’t? Why do complications happen? My interest was peaked beyond belief, I knew that my life calling was to learn about diabetes as much as possible and use that knowledge to help as many people as possible.

To start this journey I began taking science electives in high school that allowed me to research and learn more about diabetes. By college I knew I wanted to go into the nursing field and after 4 year at Seattle Pacific University I graduated nursing school Cum Laude with my BSN and was voted the top clinical practitioner of the nursing class. After finishing school I spent the next 3 years working at diabetes camps and hospitals on renal/diabetes units. My wife Kaitlin has always encouraged me to pursue my dreams of becoming a diabetes educator. With hard work and lots of encouragement from her, I became a clinical diabetes care and education specialist in 2020 and latter founded TDM Education LLC.

My wife and I are currently living in the Phoenix, AZ area and enjoy spending lots of time with our boys. We are blessed and strive to learn as much as we can about health, nutrition, and diabetes management. Although, my wife is not certified in diabetes education, I often say she is my own personal endocrinologist as she strives to learn as much as she can about diabetes treatment and management.
